Madison County Residents Get Answers at Property Tax Assessment Seminar

On Tuesday, September 22nd at 6:00pm, Madison County Board Member Linda Wolfe hosted a Property Tax Assessment Seminar at the Collinsville Senior Center, giving residents a chance to learn how property taxes are calculated and where that money actually goes. The event was free and open to everyone in the community. Madison County Chief County Assessment Officer Jessica Dudley, CIAO, served as guest speaker, walking attendees through the assessment process.

The event drew a full house, with 30 people turning out for the evening. Many attendees came prepared, property tax bills in hand, and asked sharp, specific questions throughout the seminar. By the end of the night, people left with a clearer understanding of how their tax bills come together.

Looking ahead, Madison County Republicans have a full slate of upcoming efforts, including get-out-the-vote support for candidates, a Baby Supply Drive planned for December, and another Property Tax Seminar in Helvetia Township in the spring of 2027, timed to when local assessors finalize valuations and taxpayers receive their official notices.
