Madison County Republicans Meet Voters Where They Are at the County Fair

From July 21st through July 26th, Madison County Republicans set up shop at the Madison County Fair in Highland, IL, giving voters throughout the county a chance to stop by, ask questions, and connect with the local party face to face. The fair itself has deep roots in the community, chartered back in 1872 and built up over generations by dedicated volunteers into the county-wide tradition it is today. That kind of standing makes it one of the year's biggest community gatherings, and a natural place for the party to show up and meet voters where they already are.

Under the leadership of Mary Drumm, the group's table saw a steady stream of visitors over the course of the week. Numerous fairgoers stopped by, and volunteers reported great conversations and a genuinely warm reception from the community, a reminder that some of the most effective outreach happens outside the usual meetings and events, right in the middle of everyday community life.

Setting up at the county fair fits squarely into how Madison County Republicans approach engagement: showing up consistently in the places where voters already are, rather than waiting for them to come find the party. It's the same spirit behind the group's recent community service efforts, including donation drives benefiting local families in need.
